
The national teams of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Canada played to a draw in the opening round of the 2026 World Cup group stage.
The second of the three scheduled opening matches for the tournament took place at BMO Field in Toronto and ended with a score of 1-1.
Jovo Lukic opened the scoring in the 21st minute. This goal also marked the first goal scored from a corner kick in this tournament.
Kyle Larin equalized in the 78th minute.
In the next round, Bosnia and Herzegovina will face Switzerland (June 18), and Canada will play Qatar (June 19).
The 2026 World Cup is being held from June 11 to July 19 in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
Previously, Mexico defeated South Africa in the opening match of the World Cup.
