Thelma Gaston, a millionaire, disappeared 45 years ago, but forensic experts in California couldn’t locate her. They searched among both the living and the dead, yet no clues were found. This report comes from People magazine.
In California, after 45 years, authorities have identified a woman whose remains were discovered back in 1981. According to People, those remains belonged to heiress Thelma Gaston, who had gone missing just a few months before that find.
It should be noted that the woman vanished after meeting with a 39-year-old carpet vendor named Lawrence Remsen. He presented fake documents to manage her estate and a letter claiming she was on holiday.
Remsen was apprehended for trying to steal $100,000 from Gaston’s accounts and selling her property. In court, he claimed he accidentally found her body and threw it into the ocean. He was convicted of murdering Gaston and sentenced to life in prison.
