Former world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua of Britain defeated Albania’s Christian Prena in a bout held in Saudi Arabia.
The fight in Jeddah marked the Briton’s first appearance since a car crash that occurred in late 2025. Joshua secured a victory by technical knockout in the second round. However, in the first round, the Briton was knocked down.
Joshua is 36 years old. In January, he resumed training after a road accident in Nigeria that resulted in two fatalities. The Briton has 30 wins and four losses in professional boxing. He has held championship belts from the International Boxing Federation (IBF), the World Boxing Association (WBA), the World Boxing Organization (WBO), and the International Boxing Organization (IBO). In his previous fight on December 19, Joshua knocked out blogger Jake Paul.
Prena is 35 years old. He has 20 wins and two losses, all of his victories coming by knockout.
Earlier, journalist Mike Coppinger reported on social media platform X that Joshua and his compatriot Tyson Fury have agreed to a bout. The fight between the two former world champions is planned for the fourth quarter of 2026.
