David Hinz, a 41-year-old security company employee, faced criminal prosecution. Law enforcement suspected him of fraud. The court denied the man a free legal defender. The cost of a private attorney turned out to be too high for him. Therefore, Hinz decided to conduct his own defense. He used artificial intelligence for this purpose.
The neural network helped the citizen form a clear legal position. The AI assisted in preparing an 18-page motion to disqualify the judge due to bias. This work took one week. In the end, a different judge reviewed the documents and dismissed the case.
“I would never have been able to do this without AI,” said Hinz.
