The firm Pebble, recognized for its smartwatches, has engineered a smart ring intended to perform one singular function—recording fleeting reflections. The brand’s originator, Eric Migicovsky, who recently reinstated the company, termed it an “external memory” for the mind.
The ring is crafted from stainless steel and offered in three hues. It possesses merely one switch, which must be depressed to energize the microphone. Thereafter, the user can dictate speech that will be transmitted to notes on their phone.
This capability does not necessitate an online link or a subscription fee. According to Migicovsky, the connection between the ring and the phone is encrypted. Moreover, the gadget does not record speech continuously.
This ring is essentially disposable. Its power source will suffice for 12–15 hours of active use, and recharging it is impossible. As Migicovsky stated, a rechargeable cell would render the ring pricier and bulkier. In the developers’ estimation, it might last for roughly two years.
As a pre-order, the ring will cost seventy-five dollars. The corporation intends to commence shipments in March 2026. At that juncture, its price will climb to ninety-nine dollars.
