Gautam Adani, the driving force behind the Adani Group conglomerate, has once again clinched the title of Asia’s wealthiest individual. The resurgence to the top spot for the business magnate was propelled by the upward trajectory in the stock prices of his energy ventures.
The founder and chairman of the Indian conglomerate Adani Group, Gautam Adani, reclaimed his position as the richest person in Asia, surpassing Mukesh Ambani, the head of Reliance Industries. As per the most recent data from the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, revised on Friday, Adani’s net worth surged to $92.6 billion. This placed him at 19th globally and number one on the continent. Ambani’s wealth is currently calculated at $90.8 billion, corresponding to the 20th spot worldwide.
A primary catalyst for this success was the appreciation of Adani Group’s shares. Since the start of the year, Adani’s wealth has grown by $8.1 billion, driven by the rising valuations of the group’s companies involved in energy, airports, and port logistics. Conversely, Ambani’s capital diminished by $16.9 billion over the same timeframe. Rounding out the top three richest individuals in Asia is Zhang Yiming, the originator of ByteDance, whose fortune amounts to $68.7 billion.
In the global rankings, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk, maintains a commanding lead with an estimated net worth of $656 billion. Securing the second position is Google co-founder Larry Page ($286 billion), while Amazon founder Jeff Bezos occupies third place ($269 billion). The most substantial decline among the world’s wealthiest was recorded by LVMH chief Bernard Arnault, whose capital decreased by $44 billion.
Forbes previously unveiled its worldwide roster of billionaires. In 2026, the list encompassed 155 business figures from Russia. The total count of billionaires across the globe reached 3.42 thousand individuals, accumulating a combined fortune of $20.1 trillion. Fourteen new entries expanded the Russian contingent within the rankings. The most prominent newcomer was Vikram Punia, proprietor of the pharmaceutical corporation “Farmasintez,” with a fortune valued at $2.1 billion.
