
Hungary’s national hockey team secured a decisive 5-0 shutout victory over Great Britain during the group stage of the World Championship taking place in Switzerland.
On May 19th, the Hungarian and British squads faced off in their group stage match of the 2026 World Championship. The contest unfolded at the Swiss Life Arena in Zurich.
Kristian Nagy put the Hungarians ahead just three minutes into the game. Doman Sengoet then extended their lead further.
In the second period, Istvan Terbocs made the score 3-0. He went on to complete a brace later in the match. The rout was finalized by Nagy, who also netted two goals against the designated away team.
This marks the first win for the Hungarian squad at the 2026 World Championship. Previously, they had suffered defeats against Finland (1-4) and Austria (2-4).
