In the Austrian city of Braunau, a police station has been opened in the house where Adolf Hitler was born, reports Tagesschau.
According to the publication, the building came into Austrian state ownership in 2017. Over the years, it housed a school and a facility for people with disabilities, but for the past 15 years the house stood empty.
Authorities hope that stationing police there will make the site “unattractive” to far-right extremists, who had been using it as a “place of pilgrimage.”
