
The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, made an appearance at The Christie cancer center in Manchester. During her visit, she engaged with individuals undergoing treatment for cancer and shared her own personal journey with her illness. The Mirror reported this event on Thursday, June 4th.
It is noted that she met with Claire Lougrente, a 30-year-old woman who was completing her treatment for breast cancer. The Princess embraced her and expressed, “Well done. You’ve done so well. Look at the journey you’ve been on.”
Middleton also spoke with other patients receiving chemotherapy, highlighting the crucial role of support from loved ones.
“Well done. I know it’s hard for the family and friends too. For the children, my parents. You’re going through it with us,” the Princess remarked while addressing the family of one of the patients.
She further emphasized that cancer impacts not only the physical body but also one’s mind and spirit. Following her visit, the Princess posted on social media, conveying her gratitude to the center’s staff for their comprehensive approach to patient care and their supportive environment, as stated in the report.
Prior to this, Kate Middleton had released a video message focusing on the subject of cancer. She intended this as a gesture of solidarity with those affected by the disease on Cancer Day. The Princess of Wales disclosed that battling her illness had been a significant challenge for her. In her words, her thoughts on this particular day were with everyone who has received a diagnosis, is undergoing treatment, or is in recovery.
