Owners of Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and S24 Ultra smartphones have begun reporting issues following an update.
Notebookcheck examined user feedback on the company’s official forum and noted that, after installing the new version of the operating system, the devices began overheating and draining their batteries faster.
One Galaxy S25 Ultra user reported that their phone’s battery dropped from 85% to 5% overnight after installing the July security patch. In standby mode, the smartphone loses 5–7% of its battery charge every hour.
A Galaxy S24 Ultra owner encountered similar problems, noting that while their phone previously lasted a full day on a single charge, battery life has significantly decreased since the update.
Samsung has not yet commented on the user complaints.
Notebookcheck suggests that the company might launch an investigation and release a fix. In late July, Samsung identified the cause of a widespread display issue affecting the Galaxy S26 Ultra, where a bug caused many users’ screens to take on a reddish tint.
