Around 20,000 people gathered in central Bucharest at a table stretching over five kilometers, setting a world record. The structure was made from recycled materials, reports The Washington Post.

The “Table That Unites” event took place at Constitution Square and along Unirii Boulevard. The officially recorded length of the structure was 5,055 meters, after which the organizers were presented with a Guinness World Records certificate.
The event was held for a charitable cause. Participants raised funds for the construction of Romania’s first specialized psychiatric hospital for children. The new medical facility is planned for the Alexandru Obregia Clinical Hospital. According to the organizers, the facility will be able to provide care to more than 5,700 children with severe mental disorders each year.
The project had previously set a similar record a year ago. In September 2025, in the Romanian city of Alba Iulia, a table made of recycled materials stretched nearly 2.8 kilometers and drew around 10,000 participants.
