
Al-Nassr clinched the Saudi Arabian football championship title by defeating Damac 4-1 in their final home fixture of the 34th round. The decisive match took place on May 21st.
For the victorious Al-Nassr, goals were scored by Sadio ManĂ© in the 34th minute, Kingsley Coman in the 52nd minute, and the Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, who netted a brace in the 63rd and 81st minutes. Damac’s sole response came from Morlaye Sylla, who converted a penalty in the 58th minute.
With this victory, Al-Nassr accumulated 86 points in the league standings. Al-Hilal secured the runner-up position with 84 points, having won their final away game against Al-Fayha by a score of 1-0.
This league title marks the first in Saudi Arabia for five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese forward is currently in his fourth season with Al-Nassr. Previously, he achieved championship titles with Manchester United in England, Real Madrid in Spain, and Juventus in Italy.
The Saudi league championship represents the 35th trophy of the striker’s career. During his tenure in Saudi Arabia, the Portuguese player had previously only won the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023.
Earlier, on May 16th, Al-Nassr faced defeat against Japan’s Gamba Osaka in the final of the second AFC Champions League. The match was held at the Kingdom Arena stadium in Riyadh and concluded with a 1-0 scoreline in favor of Gamba Osaka.
