A 25-year-old teacher from Washington state, MacKenzie Nott, has pleaded guilty to having an intimate relationship with a 16-year-old teenager. This was reported by the news channel KREM. The incident took place in early May. According to the investigation, the woman was arrested after her husband contacted the police. MacKenzie herself told her spouse about what had happened: she had engaged in a relationship with the son of their family friends, with whom the family communicated via Snapchat. That evening, while her husband was asleep, Nott began flirting with the student and persuaded him to meet up. The teenager drove her in his car to a hill outside town, where they had intimate contact. Afterwards, the young man drove her back home. During questioning, MacKenzie confirmed the young man’s account and stated that she was aware of his age. She explained her actions by saying that their long-standing friendly interaction led her to perceive the high school student as a contemporary. It is known that he was not a student at the school where the accused taught. On July 11, MacKenzie Nott formally pleaded guilty in court. The prosecution is seeking a sentence of six months to one year in prison, as well as the addition of her name to the registry of individuals convicted of sex offenses for a period of ten years. The case file mentions a similar incident in Western Australia, where a teacher had her charges reduced after entering into an intimate relationship with a 12-year-old student, from whom she later became pregnant. The woman pleaded guilty to 15 counts of sexual offenses against a minor. Previously, we reported on a teacher in the United States who sent nude photos and engaged in sexual acts with students. She harassed students, recorded prohibited videos, and conducted live streams for children.
