Two adults and a child, who had been reported missing by their loved ones, died after falling from Germany’s tallest observation tower.
The incident occurred at the 65-meter Harz Tower in Altenau, as reported by Metro. There was no chance to save the family. Police cordoned off the landmark to investigate all the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
According to the publication, the structure, made of wood and steel and costing approximately ten million euros to build, includes two observation decks and a so-called “skywalk” with a glass floor at a height of 45 meters. The landmark is frequently visited by tourists.
The police stated that the structure was “in working order, and no technical malfunctions were detected.”
Online, there are discussions about a “possible attack on the family” by third parties. The police, for now, deny this version. Additionally, some people believe that what happened was “a deliberate decision by the family,” specifically the adults, with the child having to comply.
