Former Brazil striker Ronaldo has named Spain and Manchester City midfielder Rodri as the main contender for the Ballon d’Or. The 30-year-old midfielder led the Spanish national team to victory at the 2026 World Cup and was named the tournament’s best player. Furthermore, Rodri already won the award in 2024.
“He is the main contender for the Ballon d’Or. At the World Cup, Rodri was the best player for the Spanish national team, and that fact significantly boosts his chances for the award. It is quite likely that he will win the trophy again,” AS quotes Ronaldo as saying.
